About Dwello

Dwello was founded in 2021 with the desire to open up the residential investment market. The platform helps real estate investors, from beginners to experienced investors, to analyze, buy, and own home investments with confidence.

A good match with Thesio because... We aligned well with Dwello's mission: to disrupt a market by adding transparency and making it accessible to everyone.

Building a start-up together

At Thesio, we have a broad view of the market and are always curious about disruption. The rented property market is one such market where transparency and accessibility were lacking. That is why we have been involved in this concept from day one. This involvement goes beyond just the development of the platform, but also really focuses on advice in building a start-up and a long-term strategy.

From prototype to MVP

By being involved from the start, we have also jointly chosen the right approach in realizing this innovative platform. The 2 sided platform brings supply and demand together. In order to create the right starting point together, it was decided to first create a clickable prototype to develop. By further tightening this up and with the necessary funding raised, the development process was started for the MVP (Minimum Viable Product). This MVP was quite extensive in functionality because both target groups (owners, buyers) needed a good basis in functionality to set up the platform as much self-service as possible.

3 pivots in 14 months

An important part of the realization of such a platform is remaining agile. Especially in a changing market such as that of rented real estate, it is important to adjust the proposition where necessary or, on the contrary, to take advantage of commercial opportunities that come by. This led to 3 pivots that were carried out to a certain extent to unlock the offer to users in a different way. Because we set up the platform robustly, we were able to do these iterations from agile development make it relatively easy. The business was not stopped by technical restrictions, but the business is actually leading the way for product development.

Our software vision for Dwello

In the sustainable development of such a platform, it is essential to find a good balance between an affordable starting point on the one hand and a good solid basis that can be built on for a longer period of time. An important consideration here is, of course, to what extent a concept has already been validated, otherwise it may also be advisable to first develop a smaller, simplified version to do that validation.

"Thesio not only provides the right technical expertise but also asked insightful business questions. Together with them as a partner, we launched a very comprehensive platform in an incredibly short time."

Dwello's tech stack

We chose to develop the platform in the Javascript stack, focused on an interactive and fast front-end. Especially in view of the growth in supply, this especially needed to be well organized. In addition to the platform, Dwello also uses a commercial website. We deliberately 'pulled' it away from the platform in order to give Dwello itself the freedom to fully iterate with the website. For this purpose, the user-friendly Webflow is used, which allows the client to easily change pages himself or create landing pages for campaigns.

GraphQL

GraphQL is an API query language and runtime environment that allows clients to specify their own unique data requests. It offers a more efficient, flexible, and powerful way to retrieve data than traditional REST APIs. GraphQL is used to streamline communication between client and server and provides a standardized way to query data, resulting in faster and more scalable applications.

Next.JS

Next.js is a React-based framework for building server-side rendered (SSR) and static generated (SG) web applications. It offers automatic code splitting, pre-rendering, and routing, allowing developers to quickly build modern and optimized web applications using React.

Webflow

Webflow is a powerful visual development platform that allows users to design and build responsive websites and web applications without writing code. It offers an intuitive interface with a drag and drop editor, allowing users to create and modify complex layouts with a high degree of control.
